The OHD Neighborhood Association

In 1993, a group of residents committed to educating the community about the history of the district and encouraging residents to take pride in their homes and preserve them accordingly, created the Oaks Historic District Neighborhood Association.

The association board worked with the City of Beaumont to create the Historic-Cultural Landmark Preservations Overlay District, codified in Chapter 28 of the city’s Code of Ordinances.

Our Mission

The Oaks Historic District Neighborhood Association is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that exists for the purpose of maintaining and improving the quality of life within the neighborhood while also recognizing and enhancing its historical and cultural importance to the city of Beaumont.

Our Initiatives

To support our mission, the OHD Neighborhood Association earmarks funds raised through membership, the annual Preservation Bash, and Homes for the Holidays, to host free community events, fund an annual scholarship for a high school senior and resident of the Oaks, build and register five Little Free Libraries, and other projects.
